A When using fixrep@ir to hold pipes or hoses below 60 psi, follow these guidelines to ensure a firm watertight repair. After closing the pressure source of the pipe, check the surface to be wrapped. If it's shiny or smooth, like PVC, it's important to sand it with sandpaper so that fixrep@ir can grab it. For best results, wrap the sand in the direction of the package and remove debris from the pipe. Second, choose a scroll that is long enough to wrap around the paper 8-10 times and 2-4 inches on the paper. For most pressure pipe leaks, it is best to use a 2 or 4 inch package. If you work in tight spaces or complex shapes such as joints and elbows, multiple 1-inch rolls that meet the coverage requirements may be more effective. Third, when making a waterproof seal, be sure to pack the fixrep@ir as much as possible. You should see pressure on the resin surface that you pack. When you are done, work by hand in the resin to seal any space in the area. Finally, the vinyl strip is tightly wrapped to keep it sealed when cured. After a few minutes, remove the vinyl and you should have a very long lasting watertight repair.
